Moorcroft pottery was established in Staffordshire, England, in the late nineteenth century. Famous for its hand-applied slip-trailing technique known as tubelining, the studio produced art pottery featuring floral, botanical, and landscape motifs under high-fired translucent glazes.

These pieces are crafted from earthenware clay and decorated using fine slip lines to outline motifs. Liquid ceramic glazes containing metallic oxides are painted by hand within the outlines prior to kiln firing, resulting in rich colour saturation.

Authentic examples feature impressed factory marks on the underside, such as Moorcroft and Made in England. Many pieces also include painter marks, monetary or date codes, or hand-painted designer initials.

A ceramic charger can be styled upright on an acrylic or wooden display stand placed on a sideboard or mantelpiece. Alternatively, specialized plate hangers allow the piece to be safely wall-mounted as ceramic art.

Clean the ceramic surface using a soft, dry lint-free cloth or a lightly dampened cloth with lukewarm water. Avoid abrasive sponges, chemical cleaners, or submersion in water to protect the glaze and prevent moisture absorption through unglazed foot rims.
