19th Century Amboyna Card Table Attributed to Gregory and Co, Regent Street, London.

Description

Very fine exhibition quality card table made from amboyna with mahogany sliding mechanism and drawer lining. The fluting is actually ebony inlay and there is very fine stringing throughout. The hinges and their screws fit really precisely and all the screw heads line up (see photos).

This is a well thought out design with narrow frieze and legs at the corners to maximise knee space.

English circa 1870, attributed to Gregory and Co of Regent Street, London.
