We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This pair of large Edwardian photograph frames by Moseley dates from 1920. Each piece is constructed from brass and glass, displaying a gold and black colour scheme with a rectangular profile, textured patterned border moulding, and an easel back support in the English Country House style. The brass surrounds show detailed decorative edgings, whilst the inner panels provide a dark backing surface within the frames. Each item stands 36.5 cm high and 25 cm wide. These pieces work well placed on a sideboard top in a living room, study, or hallway. They accommodate standard portrait photographs and provide a classic display option for family portraits or vintage prints on any flat surface around the home.

Edwardian photograph frames from the early twentieth century are characterised by refined metalwork, subtle geometric or foliate border mouldings, and practical easel-style back struts intended for tabletop display.

Frames from this period were typically constructed from stamped or cast brass, copper, or silver-plated alloys, fitted with clear glass panes and fabric, leatherette, or paperboard backing panels.

Authentic pieces often feature makers stamps or registration numbers pressed into the metal rim or backing strut, natural tarnish in recessed areas, and hand-fitted glass panels.

Metallic picture frames can be styled in pairs or small groupings on sideboards, mantelpieces, and bookshelves, offering texture and warmth when paired with contemporary art prints or vintage monochrome photos.

Dust regularly with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. Avoid applying liquid chemical cleaners directly to the metal, as moisture can seep behind the glass and deteriorate the fabric or paper backing insert.
