FAQs

Regency and classical revival furniture is characterised by classical proportions, inspired by ancient Greek and Roman designs, featuring clean lines, dark polished woods, and restrained ornamentation.

These pieces typically utilized dense hardwoods such as mahogany or rosewood veneer, often paired with inset stone surfaces like marble and accented with hand-carved wooden details.

Authenticity is assessed by examining construction methods, such as hand-cut dovetail joints, natural timber shrinkage, historical patina on the wood finish, and the weight and thickness of the marble slab.

Pairing a historic wooden console with modern minimalist decor, such as a simple abstract mirror or contemporary ceramic lamps, creates a balanced juxtaposition of eras.

Dust regularly with a dry microfibre cloth, avoid harsh chemical polishes on aged wood finishes, and use coasters or gentle pH-neutral cleaners to protect natural marble from staining.
