FAQs

A Welsh spoon rack is a traditional wall-mounted or freestanding wooden fixture specifically designed to display domestic treen spoons, often featuring tiered steps and cut-out holes to secure the handles.

These items were predominantly constructed from native British hardwoods such as sycamore, fruitwood, and pine, chosen for their fine grain and durability in domestic environments.

Authenticity is determined by examining tool marks, hand-cut joinery, period-appropriate fasteners like wrought iron nails, and natural patination developed from decades of handling and cleaning.

This item can be mounted on a kitchen wall or displayed on a countertop to showcase collections of antique treen, bringing organic warmth and texture to rustic or contemporary schemes.

Preservation requires avoiding direct sunlight and fluctuating humidity levels, maintaining the timber with occasional applications of microcrystalline wax while avoiding harsh chemical cleaners.
