Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

Georgian furniture spans the reigns of the first four British monarchs named George, from 1714 to 1830, and is characterised by classical proportions, symmetry, and the transition from heavy walnut to rich mahogany as the primary timber.

Cabinet makers during this period predominantly relied on solid hardwoods such as mahogany, oak, and walnut, frequently incorporating mortise and tenon joints and traditional hand-turned components.

Authentic pieces often exhibit hand-cut dovetails, traditional timber shrinkage, appropriate tool marks from period saws, and a deep patina developed through centuries of natural oxidisation and waxing.

Pairing historical timber furniture with modern neutral walls and minimalist seating creates a balanced interior, allowing the rich grain and traditional craftsmanship to function as a focal point.

Maintain the timber by keeping it away from direct sunlight and heat sources, dusting regularly with a dry cloth, and applying natural beeswax periodically to nourish the wood without building up synthetic residues.
