The circular top constructed of the best grade solid figured mahogany with reeded edge, above a solid mahogany frieze with ebony mouldings and four recessed panels with carved rosettes and anthemions. Supported on a powerful base with a central reeded column and carved lappets, above quatreform concave plinth with further ebony mouldings and carved rosettes with flanking anthemions, raised on four oversized carved paw feet with further carved paterai and scroll wings, above sunken brass castors. The use of horizontal anthemions and the scroll wings to the feet are designs that feature prominently inThomas Hopes drawings. Excellent colour throughout and well preserved untouched condition.
