Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Library tables from the Regency and Victorian eras are characterised by solid timber construction, substantial proportions, and often feature classical motifs such as turned pedestals, carved scroll feet, and inset leather writing surfaces.

High-end library tables were typically constructed from dense hardwoods like rosewood, mahogany, or oak, featuring mortise and tenon joinery, hand-carved decorative elements, and dovetailed drawers fitted with brass or turned wooden knobs.

Authentic pieces exhibit period-appropriate tool marks, natural timber shrinkage, hand-cut dovetails, and genuine oxidisation and wear consistent with age, rather than machine-made uniformity or artificial distress.

An antique library table works effectively as a focal point in a study or as a large console table in an open-plan living space, contrasted against neutral walls and modern minimalist seating to highlight its historic character.

Preserve antique rosewood by keeping it away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent timber splitting, applying quality beeswax periodically, and avoiding silicone-based polishes or excessive moisture.
