The Sheraton style, prominent during the late 18th century, is characterised by classical proportions, delicate neoclassical motifs, straight tapered legs, and contrasting wood veneers or stringing.

These tables were typically crafted from solid timbers such as mahogany, satinwood, or oak, frequently featuring fine veneer work, inlay details, and brass hardware including castors and swing handles.

Authentic pieces exhibit period construction methods such as hand-cut dovetails in the drawer boxes, traditional timber shrinkage, hand-forged or cast brass fittings, and natural patina consistent with age.

A Pembroke table functions effectively as a compact writing desk, a lamp table beside a sofa, or a freestanding accent piece, bringing warmth and historical texture to modern rooms.

Preservation involves maintaining stable indoor humidity levels, avoiding direct sunlight to prevent timber fading, dusting with a dry lint-free cloth, and periodically applying microcrystalline wax.
