This grand piano originates from the early 20th century, dating around 1925. The piece is constructed from ebonised wood with a satin black finish, incorporating an internal cast iron frame and brass elements within the lyre pedal assembly. It stands on square tapered legs and features an open lid supported by a prop stick, revealing the interior strings and wooden soundboard alongside a full keyboard with black and white keys. The visible hardware includes the pedals and fittings attached to the central lyre support beneath the keyboard. The instrument measures 96 cm high, 148 cm wide, and 211 cm deep. Suitable for placement in a drawing room, this piano is designed for musical performance and daily practice. It functions as a performance instrument in domestic living spaces, providing a classical focal point for musical gatherings. The keyboard allows for full two-handed playing, while the open lid projects the acoustic sound forward into the surrounding room. The traditional proportions accommodate standard piano stools and players of various heights.

Often referred to as a classic parlour grand, the Model B was designed to balance tonal clarity, projection, and cabinet proportion, making it suitable for both private music rooms and small performance venues.

Pianos from the 1920s were constructed using cast-iron plates, spruce soundboards, and hardwood cabinets finished in dark lacquers such as ebonised wood or mahogany veneers.

Authentic examples feature a serial number stamped on the cast-iron plate near the tuning pins, accompanied by the manufacturer name cast into the plate and printed above the keyboard.

An ebonised grand piano functions as a structural anchor in a living space or music room, best positioned in an open area away from direct radiators and framed by modern architectural lighting.

Maintain a stable indoor humidity between 45% and 55% to protect the wooden soundboard from cracking, dust the ebonised surface with a dry microfibre cloth, and schedule regular tuning by a professional technician.
