This Victorian walnut and Tunbridge inlaid boxed cased sewing machine from Faudels of London consists of a cast iron hand-crank sewing mechanism mounted on a rectangular wooden base, accompanied by a matching lidded wooden carrying box with a brass handle and geometric wood-inlaid borders on the top panel. The piece displays a dark polished timber finish with gold floral decals on the machine body, metal spools visible in an open wooden well compartment, two vertical metal thread pins, and surface wear consistent with age and previous use.
