Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This 18th century American powder horn exhibits a curved silhouette and a honey-brown colour with darker mottled grain streaks. The piece is formed from natural horn with a polished surface, showing a very worn texture, scratched inscriptions along the side, and a pierced suspension hole at the top tab. The surface displays a distinct aged patina with natural variations throughout the material. Measuring 14 cm high, 5.1 cm wide, and 5.7 cm deep, the item functions as a decorative object with a colonial American design vibe. It suits placement on a mantelpiece in a traditional interior, or upon a shelf within a Highland hunting lodge style display.

Powder horns were hollowed-out animal horns used to transport and keep black gunpowder dry for muzzle-loading firearms during the 18th and 19th centuries.

Craftsmen boiled cow or ox horns to soften them, then scraped, shaped, and fitted them with a wooden plug at the base and a removable stopper at the tip.

Genuine historical pieces display natural patination, hand-carved markings, wear around attachment points, and aging consistent with organic horn material.

Position the object on a fireplace mantelpiece, open bookshelf, or mount it within a shadow box alongside period collectibles for a focal point.

Dust gently with a soft microfibre cloth and keep it in a climate-controlled environment away from direct sunlight, excess moisture, and extreme heat.
