FAQs

Popularised in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Georgian Revival furniture draws inspiration from 18th-century Neoclassical designs, featuring classical symmetry, fluted columns, and gilded decorative motifs.

These tables commonly feature carved timber foundations finished with leaf gilding, painted detailing, and carved relief friezes topped with natural polished marble slabs.

Look for signs of period craftsmanship, such as hand-carved joinery underneath, authentic patination or light wear on the gilded surface, and heavy natural marble tops with period edge profiling.

Position the table against a neutral focal wall in a hallway or entryway, paired with a modern mirror or subtle table lamp to balance the ornate historic gilding.

Dust the gilded carved wood gently using a dry, soft brush to avoid flaking the gold leaf, and clean the marble surface using a soft cloth with a pH-neutral stone cleaner.
