This Georgian tripod table from around 1760 takes the form of a wine table fashioned from dark mahogany brown timber with a polished finish. The circular top incorporates a moulded edge and a dished profile carved from a single piece of wood, supported on a turned gun barrel stem above three cabriole legs terminating in pad feet. Minor surface scuffs appear near the edge of the circular top, indicating regular handling over the decades. Standing 71 cm high with a top measuring 54 cm across, the piece functions as an end table beside a sofa or a freestanding pedestal in a living space.

A Georgian gun barrel tripod table is an 18th-century British occasional table featuring a central turned column shaped like a smooth gun barrel, supported by three outstretched cabriole legs.

These tables were primarily crafted from solid Cuban or Honduran mahogany, valued for its durability, dense grain, and rich reddish-brown tone.

Authentic pieces exhibit hand-turned column detailing, hand-planed undersides, original iron tilt latches, and natural patination around the pad feet and timber joints.

Place the table alongside an armchair as an occasional drinks stand, set it in an entry hallway beneath a mirror, or use it in an alcove to hold a table lamp.

Keep the wood dust-free using a soft, dry cloth, apply a high-grade beeswax polish once or twice annually, and position the table away from direct sunlight or radiators to prevent shrinkage.
