Tri-ang trade mark transfer: factory branding used by Lines Brothers between the wars.
Wire-spoked wheels with solid rubber tyres: standard toy manufacture of the 1930s.
Nailed softwood construction: typical factory toy carpentry of the period.
Paint worn through to bare wood on handles: years of play.

Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This 1930s Triang toy baker's cart is a vintage piece of children's play equipment executed in a rustic farmhouse style. The body is constructed from wood, finished in a blue painted coat, and accented with red spoked metal wheels, wooden handles, and a red push bar on top. Graphic transfer lettering on the side reads Baker Confectioner. The surface shows visible signs of age with worn paint and distressed edges, maintaining its original condition. The piece measures 74 cm long, 33 cm wide, and 49 cm high including the handles. In a modern home, this decorative cart functions well as a display item placed in a fireplace alcove or on a shelf.

FAQs

Tri-ang, manufactured by Lines Bros Ltd in Britain during the interwar period, produced large-scale wooden play vehicles designed to replicate commercial delivery carts used by local tradespeople.

These items were constructed primarily from painted softwoods, fitted with steel push bars and painted spoked iron wheels to withstand active play.

Authentic examples display the distinct triangular Tri-ang trade emblem within the graphic transfers alongside period-correct typography, wire-spoked metal wheels, and painted wood construction.

A painted wooden toy barrow functions as a accent piece in a hallway, nursery, or living area alcove, frequently used to hold dry foliage, blankets, or books.

Dust gently with a soft dry microfiber cloth to preserve delicate stencil transfers and flaking paint, avoiding wet solvents and direct sunlight.
