Salisbury Antiques Centre has dated this Rosewood Pedestal Sewing Table to the 19th Century.
The whole is raised on a substantial central pedestal terminating in a shaped quadriform base with turned bun feet.

A particularly attractive example of early 19th-century cabinetmaking, combining richly figured rosewood, elegant proportions and practical design. The table retains a lovely warm colour and patina, with the unusual suspended sewing bag adding to its decorative appeal.
