Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This 1930s Mid-Century Modern wall display comprises a matching pair of large brass utensils shaped as a spoon and a fork, finished in a muted gold colour. Each piece has a tapered handle with a pre-drilled mounting aperture near the top. The spoon features a rounded bowl detail while the fork displays a four-prong design. The brass shows surface wear, minor discoloration, and one missing interior hanging hook. The utensils measure 47 cm high, 9 cm wide, and 4 cm deep. Ideal for placement on a narrow wall space in a kitchen, these brass items bring vintage character to contemporary interiors. They can be mounted together as a decorative focal point in a dining area or above a food preparation space. The wall sign works well within domestic settings seeking utilitarian mid-century accents without complex ornamentation.

FAQs

These are decorative wall plaques shaped as oversized spoons and forks, traditionally manufactured for commercial cafe signage or residential kitchen decor during the mid-to-late twentieth century.

These items are typically cast or stamped from solid brass, bronze, or aluminium, often featuring pre-drilled apertures in the handles for wall fixing.

Authentic period examples exhibit hand-finished edges, subtle surface oxidisation, and visible mounting holes that show slight wear around the attachment points.

Position the pair vertically on a narrow kitchen feature wall, alongside open shelving, or above a sideboard in a dining space to introduce texture and theme.

Dust regularly using a dry microfibre cloth and remove grease with warm soapy water; avoid harsh chemical cleaners if preserving the original surface patina is preferred.
