Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. FAQs

Late 19th-century Victorian furniture typically draws upon historical revival styles, combining solid construction with ornate details such as turned central pedestals and carved legs.

These tables were predominantly crafted from dense hardwoods like mahogany or walnut, often featuring secondary woods for internal framework and cast brass or ceramic castors.

Authentic pieces exhibit period-appropriate joinery, hand-turned elements, natural timber oxidisation, and original hardware such as brass sockets and castors rather than modern fixings.

Pairing a dark wood pedestal table with minimalist modern seating or placing it beneath a sleek pendant light creates a striking balance between historical character and clean lines.

Protect the timber by avoiding direct sunlight, maintaining stable indoor humidity, and cleaning only with a soft dry cloth or specialised beeswax rather than silicone polishes.
