FAQs

The Gothic Revival movement emerged in the mid-18th century and gained significant popularity during the Victorian era, drawing inspiration from medieval architecture, ecclesiastical design, and pointed arch motifs.

Craftsmen typically utilised native hardwoods such as oak, walnut, and ash, employing traditional joinery techniques like mortise and tenon to ensure structural integrity and durability.

Authenticity is determined by examining hand-tool marks, period-appropriate joinery, natural timber ageing, oxidisation of fixings, and stylistic adherence to historical design canons.

This piece can serve as a striking contrast in a contemporary setting, paired with clean-walled minimalism or used to anchor a moody, layered interior scheme featuring textured fabrics and ambient lighting.

Maintain stable indoor humidity levels away from direct sunlight and heat sources, and clean surfaces periodically with a soft, dry cloth without applying harsh chemical polishes.
