Qianlong period export porcelain refers to ceramics manufactured in China during the reign of the Qianlong Emperor (1736-1795) specifically for western markets, combining traditional Chinese craftsmanship with European functional shapes.

These items are typically crafted from high-fired petuntse and kaolin clay, glazed with transparent feldspathic compounds, and hand-decorated using overglaze enamel pigments that required multiple kiln firings.

Authentication involves examining the body paste for iron impurities, checking the glaze for characteristic undulations and wear patterns, and analyzing the palette and brushwork consistency typical of the period.

This piece can be displayed securely within a glass-fronted cabinet or on a dedicated shelf alongside neutral modern objects to highlight its intricate hand-painted details without clutter.

Preservation requires stable indoor humidity levels, avoidance of direct sunlight to prevent pigment fading, and gentle cleaning with a dry or slightly damp microfibre cloth without harsh chemical solvents.
