FAQs

Victorian furniture encompasses a range of revival styles produced during the reign of Queen Victoria, characteristically featuring ornate carvings, dark woods, and robust craftsmanship.

Cabinet makers predominantly used native hardwoods like oak and mahogany, frequently employing exotic veneers such as walnut and rosewood to create decorative surface patterns.

Authenticity is determined by traditional construction methods, such as hand-cut dovetails, timber shrinkage patterns, appropriate patina, and period-specific joinery techniques.

Integrating an antique piece into a modern setting creates a curated aesthetic, often balanced by pairing historical wood tones with minimalist seating and neutral textiles.

Preservation requires maintaining stable room temperatures, avoiding direct sunlight to prevent veneer fading, and periodically applying quality beeswax to nourish the timber.
