Staffordshire pottery figures refer to earthenware and pottery pieces manufactured in the Staffordshire potteries in England, particularly during the 19th century, depicting animals, people, and historical events.

These pieces were typically crafted from earthenware clay, hand-painted with underglaze colours, and finished with a clear lead glaze before being fired in a kiln.

Authentic pieces generally exhibit fine crazing in the glaze, hollow construction with a vent hole, hand-painted detailing with characteristic wear, and weight consistent with period earthenware.

They can be displayed on mantelpieces, bookshelves, or side tables to introduce historical character, texture, and a sense of collected eclecticism to contemporary spaces.

Keep them out of direct sunlight to prevent paint fading, dust gently with a soft dry brush, and avoid using chemical cleaners or submerging them in water.
