A Georgian porcelain tea bowl is a small, handleless drinking vessel produced in England during the Georgian era, typically used for drinking tea before standard cups with handles became universal.

These items were typically crafted from soft-paste or hard-paste porcelain clay bodies, shaped either by throwing on a wheel or moulding, and decorated with hand-painted overglaze or underglaze enamels.

Authenticity is determined by examining the paste composition, glaze characteristics, underglaze firing flaws, hand-painted brushwork details, and comparison with known manufacturer patterns and factory body types from the period.

Antique teaware can be displayed within glass-fronted cabinets, arranged on open shelving using plate stands, or incorporated into curated tablescapes to add historical texture to domestic spaces.

Antique porcelain should be hand-washed gently in lukewarm water with mild soap when necessary, avoiding dishwashers, harsh abrasives, and prolonged exposure to direct sunlight to protect the fragile enamels.
