FAQs

A gueridon is a small French accent table, typically supported by a central column or multiple legs, which originated in France during the 17th century.

These tables are traditionally constructed from hardwoods such as beech or mahogany, often finished with an ebonised coating, and topped with marble or slate.

Authentication relies on examining timber ageing, hand-cut joinery, the natural wear of the ebonised finish, and the specific composition of the marble top.

An ebonised gueridon works effectively as a contrasting accent piece beside a modern sofa or as a standalone display surface in an entryway.

Ebonised surfaces should be dusted with a soft, dry cloth and protected from direct sunlight, while marble requires pH-neutral cleaners to prevent staining.
