Georgian wine tables emerged in the 18th century as portable, small-scale tables specifically designed to hold glasses and bottles of wine during evening socials.

Cabinet makers typically utilised native hardwoods such as oak, mahogany, and walnut, often featuring turned pedestals and tripod legs.

Authentic pieces often exhibit period-appropriate joinery, hand-turned elements, aged timber patination, and wear patterns consistent with centuries of use.

Positioning the table beside an armchair or in an empty corner provides a functional surface while introducing historic character and warmth to contemporary spaces.

Maintain the timber by dusting with a dry cloth and occasionally applying natural beeswax, avoiding direct sunlight and excessive moisture.
