A drum table is a type of circular library or centre table characterised by a deep cylindrical top fitted with drawers, originating during the late 18th and early 19th centuries.

These tables were typically crafted from solid mahogany or mahogany veneers, frequently featuring inset tooled leather surfaces and brass drawer pulls or castors.

Authentication involves examining timber grain, hand-cut dovetail joints in the drawers, hand-tooled gold leaf on the leather, and period-appropriate brass hardware.

It can be positioned centrally in a study or living space as a freestanding focal point, styled simply with a stack of books or a reading lamp.

Maintenance requires regular dusting with a soft cloth, conditioning the timber with microcrystalline wax, and protecting leather inserts from direct sunlight and moisture.
