We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

Spode porcelain from the early 19th century is renowned for technological innovations in bone china bodies and sophisticated enamel decoration, establishing high standards for British ceramic manufacturing.

Traditional pieces were crafted using refined bone china or porcelain clay bodies, finished with hand-painted overglaze polychrome enamels and applied gilding that required multiple kiln firings.

Authenticity is typically verified through underglaze painted or printed factory pattern numbers, specific porcelain body weight and translucency characteristics, and distinctive hand-gilding styles consistent with the period.

Antique porcelain items add curated character when displayed within glass cabinets, on mantels, or styled as focal decor pieces on side tables to contrast clean modern lines with historic craftsmanship.

Antique porcelain should be cleaned exclusively by hand using lukewarm water and mild soap, avoiding harsh abrasives, ultrasonic cleaners, or prolonged soaking to protect delicate overglaze enamel and gilding.
