Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

FAQs

A French vinters table is a traditional folding or tilt-top table historically used in vineyards and wine cellars for sorting grapes, tasting wine, or general utility work during the harvest season.

These tables are traditionally constructed from solid European oak, featuring pegged mortise and tenon joints, hand-planed wooden tops, and collapsible trestle or folding bases designed for easy storage.

Authentic pieces exhibit natural timber shrinkage, period-appropriate hand tools marks, authentic oxidisation around iron or wooden hinges, and genuine patina accumulated from decades of agricultural use.

This versatile piece can be used as an accent table in a dining room, paired with modern minimalist chairs to create contrast, or folded and displayed flat against a wall as a decorative architectural element.

Maintain antique oak by keeping it away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent timber splitting, and clean periodically with a soft, dry cloth followed by application of natural beeswax.
