We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

An envelope table, popular during the Edwardian era, is a compact occasional table featuring a clever folding top comprising four triangular flaps that rotate and unfold to reveal a baize-lined surface for card games.

These pieces were typically constructed from solid mahogany or satinwood, often adorned with intricate marquetry or string inlay, and featured mortise and tenon joinery supported by slender cabriole legs.

Authentic pieces generally exhibit period-appropriate hardware, hand-cut dovetails within the drawer construction, natural patination on the timber, and traditional mechanical wooden hinges beneath the rotating flaps.

Position the piece as an eclectic accent in a living room or study, perhaps keeping the top closed and styled with a small table lamp or ceramic bowl to highlight the intricate wood marquetry.

Maintain the timber by keeping it away from direct sunlight and heat sources, dusting regularly with a soft, dry cloth, and occasionally applying a quality beeswax to nourish the wood grain.
