Anglo-Indian sword sticks originated during the British colonial period in India, combining traditional local craftsmanship with British demand for functional yet discreet self-defence items.

These pieces typically feature hard timbers such as ebony or sheesham, paired with hand-forged steel blades and intricate inlay work using bone, horn, or mother-of-pearl.

Authenticity is identified through hand-forged blade construction, natural ageing of the bone inlay, traditional pin fixings, and period-specific carving motifs characteristic of 19th-century workshops.

Displaying such items securely within a specialist cabinet, on a desk stand, or mounted vertically on a study wall brings historical character to traditional interiors.

Maintain stable indoor humidity levels, apply microcrystalline wax periodically to preserve the wooden shaft, and lightly oil the steel blade to prevent oxidation.
