Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

FAQs

Farmhouse tables originated in European rural homes, designed as sturdy, utilitarian surfaces for food preparation and communal family meals.

They were typically constructed from locally sourced native hardwoods such as elm, oak, and pine, featuring mortise and tenon joints for maximum structural durability.

Authentic pieces exhibit hand-planed surfaces, traditional joinery without modern fixings, and natural patina, wear, and shrinkage consistent with age.

Pairing a rustic wooden table with minimalist modern chairs or industrial lighting creates a balanced contrast that highlights the organic texture of the timber.

Dust regularly with a dry cloth and occasionally treat the wood with natural beeswax, avoiding silicone-based polishes and excessive moisture.
