FAQs

Elm farmhouse tables originated in rural workshops where local timbers were utilised for their durability and availability, serving as the central hub for domestic life, food preparation, and communal dining.

These tables are traditionally constructed from solid elm planks joined with peg and tenon methods, often featuring turned legs, robust aprons, and integrated drawers for storage.

Authenticity is identified through hand-cut joinery, timber shrinkage, natural patination, tool marks, and signs of genuine wear accumulated over generations of use.

An elm dining table can be balanced in a contemporary space by pairing it with minimalist chairs, clean lighting fixtures, and natural textiles to highlight the warmth and grain of the wood.

Preserve the wood by avoiding direct heat sources, applying natural beeswax periodically, using coasters and placemats, and wiping spills immediately with a damp cloth.
