The quality is outstanding, each of the four tables has unique botanical themed carving on the outer and inner legs. The carving is crisp and extremely finely executed in a most impressive manner. The tops are solid mahogany, the tables nestle smoothly under one another and store away to a nice compact size.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

FAQs

Art Nouveau emerged in the late 19th century, rejecting historical revival styles in favour of organic, flowing forms inspired by natural structures and plant motifs.

Master craftsmen typically utilised dense hardwoods such as mahogany, walnut, and oak, frequently incorporating intricate hand-carved details and traditional joinery.

Authenticity is indicated by period-appropriate construction methods, hand-carved asymmetrical floral or whiplash motifs, natural patination on the wood, and absence of modern fixings.

Pairing historical carved wooden pieces with minimalist modern surroundings creates a sophisticated contrast, allowing the organic craftsmanship and rich tones of the wood to function as a focal point.

Preservation requires regular dusting with a soft, dry cloth, avoiding direct sunlight and moisture, and periodically treating the timber with traditional beeswax to nourish the wood.
