Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

FAQs

A Georgian tripod table is a small, moveable occasional table supported by a central pillar and three legs, typically manufactured during the 18th century under the reigns of King George I through to King George IV.

These tables were traditionally constructed from native hardwoods such as oak, mahogany, or walnut, often featuring mortise and tenon joinery, turned central pedestals, and dovetailed or pegged tabletops.

Authentic pieces are identified by hand-cut joinery, timber shrinkage lines, appropriate patination and wear consistent with age, hand-turned components, and the absence of modern machine-cut markings.

An antique tripod table functions effectively as a versatile accent piece, suitable for placing beside a sofa to hold a lamp or styled in an empty corner with a small stack of books and a ceramic vase.

Preserve antique oak by avoiding direct sunlight and excessive heat fluctuations, dusting regularly with a dry cloth, and occasionally applying high-quality beeswax to nourish the timber and maintain the natural finish.
