As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this large and highly decorative Meiji Period (1868-1912) silk textile, the large textile has been painstakingly hand stitched in long and short stitch technique to portray a most pleasing moonlit lakeside setting within a natural forest landscape, a fast running stream cascades down to the moonlit lake, the unknown Meiji period weaver has captured this picturesque landscape in fine detail. The textile has since been backed and re framed to preserve it for the next generation of Japanese art lovers.
Condition report :
The textile is in fine condition with minimal signs of wear or fading and retains nice tight threads .
