This North African centre table dates from 1880 in the Moorish Revival style, constructed from dark brown walnut with inset mother-of-pearl decoration. The piece has an octagonal top above an open frieze of intricate mashrabiya lattice work and hand-carved geometric panels set with mother-of-pearl star motifs. Below, four turned upright legs connect to a lower stretcher base centred on a turned wooden finial. The timber displays a rich dark brown polish and visible grain throughout, with contrasting white mother-of-pearl circular and star-shaped inlays dotting the aprons and stretchers.
