Victorian Gothic Hymn Board

£465    $580    €558
A truly spectacular carved oak 19th century wall-hanging hymn board. This superb example - surely the best available on the market today - is comprised of five divisions (which are ideal for displaying photographs, postcards, or messages, by sliding them in through slots on the right hand side), over a gothic-carved arch below, and an architectural pediment surmount above, flanked by recessed-panelled finials. Rather than ''HYMNS'' being painted, this example has Gaelic type letters beautifully relief-carved in highly stylised Celtic font. This top quality hymn board is English, and it dates from c.1875.
