Regency furniture, spanning the late 18th to early 19th century, draws heavily on classical Greco-Roman motifs, featuring clean lines, restrained ornamentation, and high-quality timber such as mahogany.

These tables were typically constructed from dense hardwoods like mahogany, walnut, or oak, often utilizing traditional joinery methods such as dovetails and pegged tenons for structural integrity.

Authenticity is assessed by examining timber patination, tool marks, hand-cut joinery, and the construction of the underside and pivot mechanisms, which show age-appropriate wear and historical manufacturing techniques.

Placing a historical piece next to modern upholstery creates an eclectic contrast, adding warmth, texture, and architectural grounding to a minimalist or transitional space.

Maintain antique wood by keeping it away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent cracking, and apply microcrystalline wax periodically to nourish the surface without building up residue.
