The mahogany nest of tables is supported by refined ring turned “bamboo” style legs, which in turn are united by an elegant bow shaped cross-stretchers (for additional strength), and terminate on elegant refined splayed feet. The mahogany nest of tables displays superb craftsmanship, with each of the tables slides comfortably into each other, protected by green baize strips on the undersides of the table.
The mahogany nest of tables boasts a beautiful deep rich patina, which has been generated by the years of cleaning and care they have received. This truly is a very beautiful item with quality construction and is original throughout. They are an extremely useful piece of furniture and a great asset to have in any living or dining room or hallway, as they consume very little space.
Condition Report:
This is a fine quality antique English Edwardian set of four mahogany nest of tables, in the Regency style, with good proportions, constructed from solid mahogany, with decorative inlaid tops, circa 1910, in excellent original condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges and tops, but nothing significant considering their age (see photos). The nest of tables boasts a fantastic colour and patination; having been cleaned and professionally French polished by hand in our workshop. The legs, stretchers and feet are sturdy with no breaks or damage. Each of the tables fit comfortably into each other and are protected by green baize strips to the underside to protect the polished tops when in storage. This mahogany nest of tables is well constructed, solid in joint and ready to use.
