Description

Here is a really great and very large hand blown oval Victorian glass display dome, sat on an ebonised four footed base, and lined with the original claret velvet. I always think that the oval domes are less frequently seen than their rounder counterparts!

The dome is in great condition - the glass is bright and shiny, and free from cracks - there are the usual tiny nibbles (totally unseen) to the edge of the glass, but these are the original manufacturing marks from when the glass was cut from the blowpipe.

The velvet is aged and sun worn, but I have left it as it is the original - should you wish for newer looking velvet, this can easily be replaced at the buyers discretion.

The dome stands 50cm tall on its base, and is 33.5cm wide by 23cm, with the height inside the dome standing at 47cm.
