A quality pair of late 19thc French ormolu gilt metal curtain ties or tie backs c1880. The curtain tie backs have a typically ornate moulded design with further detailed moulding along the curved shaft, which is unusual and a mark of quality. They have good weight. Each tie back bears the initials EG and number 603 in two places, being the mark of the maker. Each tie back is sumptuously gilded, to glimmer in the light.
