This Japanese Imari porcelain bowl dates from 1900 during the Meiji period and serves as a decorative tableware item. The piece is finished with a glossy enamel glaze, underglaze cobalt blue, and gilded accents over porcelain, rendered in a palette of rust red, blue, green, and white. The round body has a scalloped rim and panelled floral decoration on the exterior and interior, including a hand-painted vase of flowers at the centre and evidence of restoration.
