Welsh Pine Spoon Rack

19th century
Description

A traditional Welsh spoon rack, made entirely of pine, each of the four tiers has five circular holes for spoons and a softly chamfered edge to the front and sides. Topped by a shallow arched cresting, pierced for hanging and with a simple, twin curved frieze board. It has a warm and lustrous surface and colour. Probably Carmarthenshire or Cardiganshire circa 1880-1900.
