Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Pate-sur-pate, meaning paste-on-paste, is a French porcelain decoration method developed at Sevres in the mid-19th century and perfected by British manufacturers such as Minton under artists like Marc-Louis Solon.

Artists build up designs using unfired liquid porcelain slip, applied layer by layer with a brush onto an unglazed coloured porcelain body, before carving detail into the translucent raised areas prior to firing.

Authentic pieces exhibit translucent depth in the raised white slip, showing varying degrees of the background colour underneath, along with impressed factory marks or artist initials typical of late Victorian manufacture.

A framed ceramic plaque can be hung as a focal point within a gallery wall or positioned above traditional furniture to introduce tactile classical narrative art to a modern room scheme.

Dust the porcelain and frame gently using a dry, soft-bristled brush, avoiding water, chemical cleaners, or moisture that could seep behind the frame mount or damage ebonised surfaces.
