We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

The George IV style, spanning the 1820s, is characterised by a continuation of classical Regency influences combined with heavier, robust proportions and an increased reliance on rich timbers such as mahogany and rosewood.

These tables were typically constructed from solid and veneered Cuban or Honduras mahogany, featuring pegged joints, hand-turned pedestals, sabre legs, and cast brass paw castors.

Authenticity is identified through period-appropriate timber grain, hand-cut secondary woods, traditional joinery methods, patination consistent with age, and original brass hardware without modern screw replacements.

Pairing a dark wood pedestal table with minimalist modern seating and clean architectural lines creates a balanced dining space that highlights the historical craftsmanship.

Maintain antique mahogany by avoiding direct sunlight and fluctuating humidity levels, cleaning only with a soft dry cloth, and occasionally applying pure beeswax to nourish the timber.
