Here is a striking four panel room divider dating to the late 19th century comprising of four elegant screens set into mahogany frames.
Each panel is an individual oil painting on canvas depicting birds and blossoms, set in an exquisite landscape. Baby birds - Song Thrush fledglings and Blue Tit chicks are nested amongst spring blossoms and blue skies, with Egrets and Flamingos working their way through a meandering pool of Water Lilies.
The room divider stands 178cm tall, each panel is 53cm wide, so 212cm across when fully opened, and is lined to the reverse in a neutral cream fabric. Looking equally at home in a modern setting as it does in a period room, this screen brings the Victorian fascination with the natural world into the home.
The screen is in good condition, and displays only the gentle surface wear to be expected with an item of its considerable age. Please see the photographs and if I can provide any further information or pictures, please do not hesitate to
