We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

The Georgian style spans the reigns of the first four Georges, characterised by classical proportions, symmetry, and an evolution from heavy walnut to refined mahogany timber with intricate carving.

These tables were constructed primarily from dense tropical hardwoods like mahogany, featuring pegged mortise-and-tenon joints, hinged gateleg or swing-leg mechanisms to support the leaves, and hand-turned cabriole legs.

Authenticity is assessed through timber shrinkage patterns, hand-cut secondary wood elements, tool marks consistent with period joinery, and natural patination developed over centuries of use.

An antique table provides textural contrast in modern settings; pair it with minimalist seating to highlight the timber grain or use it as a functional console against a neutral wall.

Maintain stable relative humidity to prevent wood splitting, keep surfaces away from direct sunlight to avoid fading, and clean periodically with a soft cloth using natural beeswax polish.
