Description

An incredible find: a magnificent carved gothic panel in solid mahogany. This stunning piece of 19th century carving from the early/mid Victorian era is the top part of a salvaged door from a huge screen. Evidence of it having been a door is apparent from an old hinge position on one side, and an old lock position on the other. It can now be used as an impressive interior furnishing piece either floor-standing, or it could be used as an eye-catching wall-hung work of art. It retains its original finish with a beautifully patinated colour full of character. English, c.1850 to c.1875.
