A beautiful example of a Victorian solid cast iron stick stand or umbrella stand. It is comprised of intertwining twigs, branches and oak leaves to form a handle and two stick retainers, a study of a hound against a tree trunk, and a removable drip tray. It has an exquisite old paint finish and there are no breaks or repairs. This most attractive stand would grace any hallway. It is English, c.1880.
