Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. FAQs

Faux bamboo carving gained immense popularity in Europe during the 19th century, heavily influenced by trade with Asia and the Victorian fascination with exoticism and Japonisme.

These pieces are typically hand-carved from dense hardwoods such as cherry or beech, featuring meticulously turned nodes and rings to emulate natural bambooculms.

Authentic items exhibit period-appropriate joinery, hand-carved detailing with natural irregularities, and centuries-appropriate patina, finish wear, and oxidisation.

They can be mounted above windows to frame drapery, adding architectural depth, texture, and a sense of historic charm to minimalist or modern spaces.

Dust gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth and avoid harsh chemical cleaners or excess moisture to protect the aged wood and original finish.
